Function title: 4 Ph.D Positions
The focus of the department’s research program is on political institutions
(broadly defined), their design, workings, and implications. Candidates are
expected to work within this program and to assist in the teaching of two
courses a year. Capacity to supervise the candidate, taking into account the
profile of the department, is a determining consideration.

degree transcript of the highest degree obtained (or to be awarded this
year), in the form of a transcript/grade-sheet from your university;
the names and addresses of two potential referees;
a research proposal (approx. 2000 words) and an abstract of the proposal

Required education/skills:University Graduate
a MA or MPhil degree in political science or a comparable area with
excellent results;
a sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods;
a good command of English (speaking, writing, reading)

Ireland; PhD Studentships in Acute Lung Injury - Queen’s University Belfast
PhD Studentships Acute lung injury School of Medicine & Dentistry
The School of Medicine & Dentistry are offering ten 3 year PhD studentships
commencing September 2008. Applicants should hold or expect to obtain a 1st
class honours or upper 2:1 degree in a relevant biological science.
Eligibility for both fees and maintenance (£12,940 in 2008/09) depends on
the applicants being either an ordinary UK resident or those EU residents
who have lived permanently in the UK for the 3 years immediately preceding
the start of the studentship. Non UK residents who hold EU residency may
also apply but if successful may receive fees only. Two of the awards are
identified for outstanding overseas candidates who will be eligible for fees
and maintenance support.
