Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program.
Upon
successful completion of the graduate program, the scholars are
expected to return to their countries and contribute to its
socioeconomic development. Scholar-ships are awarded for
graduate studies at designated institutions in courses of study
approved by ADB. The Program especially welcomes qualified women
applicants who have limited financial means to obtain university

Japan Scholarship at Kochi University of Technology, Beasiswa Jepang
Special Scholarship Program (SSP) was established in 2003 in order to support the advanced research of the university by enlisting the help of highly capable international students.
Every year in April and October, Kochi University of Technology enrolls selected foreign doctoral students under specific research projects. The students pursue the doctoral course in English while at the same time assisting their host professor as a research assistant (RA). Through this program Kochi University of Technology wishes to expand and deepen international ties with academic and educational institutions all over the world.

Center for Southeast Asian Studies Fellowships Japan
The Center for Southeast Asian Studies of Kyoto University is now accepting applications from visiting scholars and researchers who work on Southeast Asia, or on any one of the countries in that region, in order to conduct research, write, or pursue other scholarly interests in connection with their field of study.
Five fellowships will be awarded for the first half of 2009 on a competitive basis. Fellowships are normally for a six-month duration, although in exceptional cases they can be extended for an additional six months.

Embassy of Japan began offering scholarships for Indonesian students wishing to study at Japanese universities as research students in the 2009 school year in accordance with the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho ) scholarship program.
Grantee Anyone who wishes to join the regular graduate course (master course, the course or doctoral graduate professional course) after studying research as a student or move from the master course or a graduate professional course doctoral course, must pass an
entrance examination by interested universities.
Applicants must have the following qualifications (among others):
1. a minimum TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent or The Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher.
2. Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1974
3. Applicants must have received from their university a GPA of 3.0 or higher or must have achieved a total score of 260 or higher in 2 subjects (except the subject of “Japanese”) in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).

UNU-IAS Postdoctoral Fellowships - 2008
Introduction
In April 1996, the UN Secretary–General inaugurated UNU-IAS as an in–house community of scholars mandated to research issues located at the intersection between societal and natural systems. The Institute’s mission is to advance knowledge and to promote learning for policy making to meet the challenges of sustainable development. As an advanced studies institute, UNU-IAS is forward-looking and multidisciplinary.
Since October 2000, UNU-IAS offers Postdoctoral Fellowships for recent PhD graduates to provide them the opportunity to put the knowledge and expertise acquired during their doctoral research to practical policy-relevant use. So far, more than 35 fellows from some 20 countries have passed through the Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme. Of those completing the programme about one third have been women, and developing country participants have outnumbered developed country participants.
About two Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded each year for a period of ten months, starting in October.
The fellowship programme provides the successful applicant with a unique opportunity to:
- develop and advance their research under the supervision of a UNU-IAS faculty member and contribute to the overall research agenda of the Institute,
- widen their research interests and professional networks by working in the international and multi-disciplinary context of UNU-IAS, and with its wider network of Japanese universities and research institutes, as well as international collaborators,
- become exposed to the workings of the international and multilateral policy process and the broader UN system, and
link with other UNU-IAS and UNU PhD and Postdoctoral fellows.
The fellows are resident at UNU-IAS in Yokohama, Japan for the full term of the fellowship. This gives them the opportunity to gain from the broader research programme of lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences arranged by UNU-IAS. The Institute’s close links with Japanese affiliated professors and visiting professors from key universities and think tanks in Japan also allows fellows to link into the broader Japanese academic and research community.
Field of Research
The purpose of the UNU-IAS Postdoctoral Fellowship is to provide young scholars and policy-makers, especially from the developing world, with a multidisciplinarily context within which to pursue advanced research and training that is of professional interest to the applicant and of direct relevance to the research agenda of UNU-IAS. Research proposals for UNU-IAS Postdoctoral Fellowships should therefore relate clearly to one of the current research areas of the Institute, as well as aim to be policy relevant. For 2008 research proposals are invited in the following six areas:

Eligibility and Conditions
Applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. (or at least successfully defended their doctoral dissertation), in an area broadly associated with the UNU-IAS thematic focus, prior to the application deadline (25 April 2008). Language proficiency in English is essential. Applicants from developing countries and women are particularly encouraged to apply.
UNU-IAS Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded for a period of 10 months. The starting date of the Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is 1 October. Successful applicants are required to be in Yokohama by this date. Residency in Yokohama for the full duration of the fellowship is required.
Fellows are provided with their own desk in a dedicated study room in the Institute, administrative support and desktop computing. Fellows have access to the UNU Centre Library in Tokyo which includes an excellent collection of UN documents. They also have access via the UNU Centre Library to various Japanese university libraries and computer databases. A limited range of other, more specialized computer hardware and software may also be available.
The fellowship provides for a monthly stipend of JPY290,000 from which a monthly usage charge for accommodation is deducted (see below). A one-time only installment of JPY 80,000 will be granted to each fellow at the beginning of the programme for adjustment expenses and incidental costs. UNU-IAS provides fellows with a return air ticket between his/her country of residence and Narita Airport.
Eligibility for a second 10-month appointment may be considered based on the fellow’s performance.

Following the Panasonic Scholarship Program year 2007, this year Panasonic Scholarship Inc., Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., in cooperation with Panasonic Group of Companies in Indonesia are very excited to offer the 2009 Panasonic Scholarship Program.
We are happy to announce that, the Panasonic Scholarship Program is now open to the graduate students from Natural Science & Mathematics, Engineering, Bio-Technology [Agricultural], and Information Technology. For those who applied the program in Indonesia and selected as nominated to receive the scholarship, Panasonic Scholarship shall award total US$ 74,000 per-person for 3 years Master course at a University in Japan.
Panasonic Scholarship is the contribution of Panasonic Group of Companies in Indonesia to the community. The program enhances the educational opportunities to students in Indonesia, especially for young students who demonstrate their academic excellence and leadership. The study in Japan will enrich their knowledge and exposed them to a different culture, which they can share for improving a friendship between Japan and Indonesia.

Eligibility
A privately financed student from Indonesia, who wishes to pursue a master’s course in Japan, should meet the following requirements:
Nationality:
Applicants must be citizens of Indonesia (with age 27 years or less).
Educational Background etc:
Applicants must be graduates or pending graduates of universities and have a distinguished academic record and must have completed 16 years of school education or have been accepted as eligible for enrollment at the targeted graduate schools.
However, applicants must have completed their bachelor degrees no more than 4 years prior to the date of their arrival in Japan.
Applicants must be enrolled as research students at universities in Japan in April 2009 and must also be able to take master’s courses by April of 2010 at the latest.
Specialization:
Applicants must major in any one of the science and technology disciplines.
Note: This excludes medical science, pharmacology and dentistry
Japanese Language Proficiency:
Applicants must have adequate proficiency and knowledge in the Japanese language not only for studying at master’s level but also for understanding Japanese culture.
Health Conditions:
Applicants must be medically fit and must be strongly motivated to study in Japan.
Others:
Applicants must be interested in and have the desire to contribute to the development of Indonesia and to promote friendship between Indonesia and Japan.
Applicants must obtain a study visa and arrive in Japan one week before the date of the award ceremony to be held at MEI Headquarters at the beginning of April 2009.
Applicants who are receiving or will receive other scholarships including Japanese Government Scholarships are not eligible for the Panasonic Scholarship.
Applicants who are already enrolled at graduate schools in Japan are not eligible for the Panasonic Scholarship.

PROGRAM PENATARAN GURU
Program Penataran Guru (Teacher Training Program) adalah salah satu program mahasiswa Pemerintah Jepang (Monbukagakusho) yang dirancang khusus bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran sesuai dengan bidangnya. Mereka akan diberikan pelatihan dalam cara mengajar, pembuatan rencana belajar-mengajar yang lebih efektif dan menarik minat siswa dan hal-hal lain yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan kemampuan para guru. Program ini adalah program non-gelar dan lamanya adalah 1 tahun 6 bulan (termasuk 6 bulan belajar bahasa Jepang) dari Oktober 2008.
Fasilitas yang didapat :
1. Tanpa ikatan dinas;
2. Tiket kelas ekonomi p.p. Indonesia (Jakarta) - Jepang;
3. Bebas biaya ujian masuk, biaya kuliah, dan uang pendaftaran;
4. Tunjangan bulanan sebesar ¥172,000 per bulan (ada kemungkinan mengalami perubahan);
5. Setiap penerima beasiswa akan diikutsertakan dalam asuransi kesehatan nasional Jepang dan program subsidi biaya kesehatan;
6. Peserta disediakan asrama yang pembayarannya diatur sendiri oleh penerima beasiswa.
Syarat-syarat :
1. Lulusan S-1 atau D-4 dan guru yang mengajar secara aktif di SD, SLTP, SLTA (termasuk sekolah swasta). Pelamar telah mengajar lebih dari 5 tahun di lembaga pendidikan formal pada tanggal 1 April 2008. Semua bidang ditawarkan kecuali, bahasa Indonesia, bahasa daerah, bahasa Arab, pendidikan agama, dan perhotelan;
2. Usia di bawah 35 tahun pada tanggal 1 April 2008;
3. Sehat jasmani dan rohani;
4. Bersedia belajar bahasa Jepang karena bahasa pengantar di universitas adalah bahasa Jepang.

Cara Pelamaran :
1. Pendaftaran dibuka pada tanggal 12 November 2007 dan ditutup pada tanggal 18 Januari 2008;
2. Bagi pelamar, baik pegawai negeri maupun swasta dapat langsung menyerahkan/mengirimkan formulir yang telah diisi ke Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang dengan dilampiri dokumen yang diperlukan;
3. Bagi pelamar yang berstatus pegawai negeri tetap harus melapor dan menyerahkan fotokopi formulir kepada Biro Kerjasama Luar Negeri (BKLN) Departemen Pendidikan Nasional;
Tahap Penyeleksian :
1. Ujian tertulis bahasa Inggris (khusus untuk guru bahasa Jepang: ujian bahasa Jepang) pada tanggal 31 Januari 2008;
2. Bagi yang lulus ujian tertulis akan dipanggil untuk mengikuti wawancara di Jakarta;
3. Bagi yang lulus wawancara akan direkomendasikan ke Monbukagakusho;
4. Mereka yang lolos seleksi di Monbukagakusho akan menjadi penerima beasiwa.

The Universität Bern will give international students Excellence Scholarships for postgraduate study, the scholarship consists of 1600 CHF per month for the entire duration of the Master’s programme.

Master’s Program in Sustainability Science Tokyo Japan
Admissions
Principally, there are two ways for admitting to Master’s Program in Sustainability Science (MPSS): (1) an international admission for international applicants (those without Japanese nationality) through a screening of application materials so that students from abroad may participate, (2) an entrance examination held in August in Kashiwa, Japan.
International Admission by a Screening of Application Materials
Admission of international applicants (those without Japanese nationality) to MPSS is determined by examining application documents, so that students from abroad need not to visit Japan only for taking an examination.
In Addition, MPSS expects students to concentrate on their study, therefore the program will prefer qualified students with sufficient financial source, i.e. scholarships.
As a candidate for the 2008 MPSS, there is a possibility to apply for either of following three scholarships through the program.

Entrance Examination
This examination is held in August in Kashiwa, Japan. Any applicants regardless of nationality can take this entrance examination, but all the applicants should visit Japan for taking this examination, even if you don’t live in Japan.
This examination consists of first stage (a screening based on application materials and short essays) and second stage (an English test (submission of TOEFL score sheet, a TOEFL-ITP exam, or both) and an oral examination).

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Students in the International Doctoral Program are required to acquire 2 credits of a course from the course group listed on the last page, in addition to fulfilling main requirements for Ph.D. degree.
The main requirements for Ph.D. degree are (1) three years of residency, which may be shortened for special cases where outstanding research performance is demonstrated; (2) successful completion of a minimum of 16 credits for students in the departments 1 to 17 and 22, or 12 credits for those in the departments 18 to 21; (3) submission of a Doctoral dissertation; and (4) oral defense of doctoral thesis.
For students in the departments 1 to 17 and 22, the above 16 credits consist of 8 credits of basic interdisciplinary courses and research seminar, and 8 credits of thesis preparation and submission.
For students in the departments 18 to 21, the above 12 credits consist of 4 credits of basic interdisciplinary courses, and 8 credits of research seminar.
CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY
Eligible candidates are:
Those who have Master´s degree, or master´s students who are expected to hold a Master´s degree before the admission date of the International Doctoral Program. The Master´s degree acquired or to be acquired must be equivalent to the Master of Engineering degree, the Master of Information Sciences degree or the Master of Environmental Studies degree awarded by Tohoku University, which include both research and thesis components.
Those who have been involved in research for a minimum of two years in internationally accredited College, University or Research Institute after acquiring a Bachelor´s degree from a Japanese accredited College or University, or those who have the same or higher level of academic ability than a Master´s degree holder.
To be eligible for Monbukagakusho Scholarships, candidates must be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2008 (born after April 2, 1973) and citizens of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. Military personnel and employees from military institutions are not eligible.
APPLICATION
All application materials, as listed below, must be written in English or Japanese.
Candidates should submit all the materials except recommendation letters (items 8 and 14) together in a single envelope. The envelope should be addressed as given in the forward pages and should contain: three copies of items 9 and 11; originals of items 6 and 7; and one original plus two copies of all other items, except items 8 and 14. NOTE: Please make sure to submit all the above materials and avoid your application being withdrawn from consideration for the selection.
SELECTION AND ADMISSION
Preliminary selection is carried out by the International Doctoral Program Evaluation Committee, based on recommendations from the above-mentioned departments and scholastic aptitude of candidates, according to transcripts, GRE and English language test scores, direct or internet interview, and materials submitted. Then, Tohoku University recommends the selected candidates to Monbukagakusho that makes the final determination of scholarship recipients. The program begins on October 1, 2008.
MONBUKAGAKUSHO SCHOLARSHIP
Monbukagakusho awards 3-year scholarships to students receiving favorable evaluations. The scholarships cover living expenses (approximately 160,000 yen/month), include a round-trip air ticket (discounted economy) between the nearest international airport in the country of the student´s nationality and the New Tokyo International Airport (NRT). Students awarded with scholarships are exempt from all admission fee and tuition fee. Monbukagakusho requests students who are admitted to the program to complete their doctoral studies within three years of financial support.
For non-scholarship students, entrance examination fee is 30,000 Yen and admission fee is 282,000 Yen. Tuition fee is 535,800 Yen per academic year. Fees can be revised during the enrollment period. In that case, the new rates are applicable and become effective from the date of the revision.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Documents submitted become the property of Tohoku University and cannot be returned.
Simultaneous applications for Monbukagakusho Scholarship to more than one university are strictly prohibited and will result in cancellation of all scholarship applications being made by the candidate.
Candidates should locate a possible research advisor at Tohoku University before application.
Scholarship students must depart their country on the 1st of October 2008 or later, and arrive in Japan between the 1st of October and 7th of October 2008. Scholarships may be canceled if recipients of Monbukagakusho scholarships fail to arrive in Japan within the above time frame. Non-Scholarship students must arrive in Japan by 25th of September.
All candidates for the program must have finished at least 16 years of primary and secondary education and must have graduated from a university or equivalent. In principle, a degree from another country should have corresponding number of years of formal education to be considered as equivalent to a Japanese degree. However, the Japanese government and universities, considering the differences in educational systems of different countries, have established criteria and schemes that allow international students to attain equivalence to Japanese educational system. Candidates are strongly advised to contact the Admission Office of the Faculty of Engineering with regards to matters on eligibility prior to application.
Candidates are encouraged to become acquainted with Japanese language, culture, and customs. Knowledge of Japanese is essential for daily life and will help to make the stay in Japan productive and also culturally enriching.
SCHEDULE AND CONTACT INFORMATION
Candidates should submit the required materials so that they arrive no later than February 5, 2008. Candidates will be notified of results of the preliminary selection stage around the end of April 2008. Results of the final selection stage authorized by Monbukagakusho will be announced by July 2008.

PROGRAM BEASISWA DI JEPANG
Beasiswa Monbukagakusho (Program Japanese Studies) - 2008
Program Japanese Studies adalah salah satu program beasiswa Pemerintah Jepang (Monbukagakusho) yang dirancang khusus bagi para mahasiswa/i yang sedang kuliah di jurusan Jepang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Jepang dan memperdalam pengertian kebudayaan Jepang. Program ini adalah program non-gelar dan lamanya adalah 1 tahun dari Oktober 2008.
Syarat-syarat:
• Mahasiswa yang masih aktif kuliah di salah satu perguruan tinggi yang mempelajari bahasa, budaya, dan sastra Jepang;
• Usia di bawa 30 tahun pada tanggal 1 April 2008;
• Mahasiswa dari tingkat tiga ke atas pada waktu melamar (ada pengecualian bagi mereka yang mempunyai kemampuan dan direkomendasikan oleh perguruan tinggi dan yang sudah belajar lebih dari satu tahun di perguruan tinggi pada tanggal 1 April 2008 boleh ikut walaupun belum mencapai tingkat tiga);
• Sehat jasmani dan rohani.
Fasilitas yang didapat:
• Tanpa ikatan dinas;
• Tiket kelas ekonomi p.p. Indonesia (Jakarta) - Jepang;
• Bebas biaya ujian masuk, biaya kuliah dan uang pendaftaran;
• Tunjangan bulanan sebesar ¥134,000 per bulan (ada kemungkinan mengalami perubahan);
• Setiap penerima beasiswa akan diikutsertakan dalam asuransi kesehatan nasional Jepang dan program subsidi biaya kesehatan.
• Peserta disediakan asrama yang pembayarannya diatur sendiri oleh penerima beasiswa.
Prosedur Pelamaran:
• Pendaftaran dibuka pada tanggal 12 November 2007 dan ditutup pada tanggal 18 Januari 2008;
• Pelamaran dilakukan secara kolektif dengan rekomendasi dari perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan, bukan perorangan langsung ke Kedutaan Besar Jepang;
• Formulir yang telah diisi dikembalikan ke Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang dengan dilampiri dokumen yang diperlukan.

• Formulir. Tulis alamat lengkap (bukan tempat kos) serta nomor telepon yang mudah dihubungi pada formulir;
• Pasfoto (harus ditempel pada formulir);
• Surat keterangan dari perguruan tinggi yang menerangkan bahwa yang bersangkutan adalah mahasiswa dari perguruan tinggi tersebut. Harus dilengkapi dengan keterangan tempat dan tanggal lahir.
• Surat rekomendasi dari ketua jurusan atau pembimbing mengenai pribadi mahasiswa yang bersangkutan.
• Nilai mulai semester satu sampai saat ini.
Semua dokumen ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris atau Jepang dalam kertas ukuran A4.
Tahap Penyeleksian:
• Ujian tulis bahasa Jepang pada tanggal 31 Januari 2008;
• Bagi yang lulus ujian tertulis akan dipanggil untuk mengikuti wawancara di Jakarta;
• Bagi yang lulus wawancara akan direkomendasikan ke Monbukagakusho;
• Mereka yang lolos seleksi di Monbukagakusho akan menjadi penerima beasiwa.

Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation - The University of Tokyo
Graduate School of Engineering (Three Departments), The University of Tokyo, offer advanced study and research opportunities to foreign students in the framework of the Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation (“the Special Program”).
The program offers:
• Master’s (2 years)
• Doctoral (3 years)
courses leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees in the Three Departments, respectively.
Those accepted to Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation will be enrolled in the winter semester which begins on October 1, 2008. Research and instruction are conducted both in English and in Japanese. Japanese language courses are offered by the Department of Systems Innovation.
The students for Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation will be selected primarily based on academic qualification. To be eligible for admission to the Master’s program an applicant must hold Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. For admission to the doctoral program an applicant must hold a Master’s Degree or its equivalent. The age of the applicant must be under 35 on April 1, 2008 and must be citizens of countries with whom the Japanese government has diplomatic relations.
How To Apply
The following documents (originals and/or several copies as indicated) must reach the Foreign Student Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science by January 4, 2008. In case you want to submit the application urgently to meet the due date please send at first the documents in PDF files by email, then submit the original ones through ordinary mail.
The necessary materials to be submitted:
• One original and five copies of Application for Japanese Government (Monbukagakusyo) Scholarship (Form #1).

• One original and five A4-sized copies of Official Transcript or Academic Record of undergraduate and graduate study from each institution which the applicant graduated from or is presently enrolled in, with English translation if the original one is not in English.
• Two evaluation reports (Confidential Evaluation Report on Applicant). One evaluator must be a dean or a person in higher position in the institution, the other should be a faculty member of the institution which the applicant is presently attending or attended most recently, who knows the applicant well such as an academic advisor. The evaluation is expected to rank the applicant according to his/her grade within certain education unit, for example, “top 5% among 98 students of the department, top 3 among 350 students” (see Sample). The report should be signed, sealed then sent directly to the Foreign Students Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science.
• A recommendation Letter from dean or a person in higher position of the institution. The letter should address to the President of The University of Tokyo and be directly sent to the Foreign Students Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science. Recommender’s E. mail address and telephone number must be indicated.
• Six copies of census register, passport or other proof of citizenship (do not need to send the original passport).
• Six passport-size photographs (6cm x 4cm) taken within past six months.
• A summery of thesis, research papers and other publications authored by applicant.
• Score of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or official certificate of your English capability. This does not apply to the native English speakers.
• Score of GRE (Graduate Record Examination), if available.

Beasiswa Joint Japan - World Bank Institute
Public Policy and Taxation Program, Joint Japan - World Bank Institute, memang untuk pns pajak ada sedikit prioritas, tapi tidak ada salahnya untuk mencoba dan bersaing
Applicants should:
1. be between the age of 25 and 45;
2. be nationals of a World Bank borrowing member country;
3. be mid-career professionals in public service;
4. be of good character, a team player and active in extracurricular activities;
5. hold, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a development-related field; and
6. have at least four years of recent full-time professional experience in a field related to economic development or public policy, in the applicant's home country or in another developing country
The following applicants are NOT eligible:
1. those currently pursuing a Master’s or PH.D. program in industrialized countries;
2. those who have had one or more years of training/studies and/or residency in an industrialized country;
3. permanent residents/nationals of industrialized countries;
4. Executive Directors, their Alternates, and staff of the World Bank Group (the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) including consultants, as well as their close relatives.)
Priority consideration will be given to applicants who:
1. are 35 years old or younger,
2. are currently holding an official position in the field of tax administration,
3. can receive an official leave of absence during the period of study,
4. are planning to return to the equivalent position (including the current one) in their home country after s/he completes the program,
5. are recommended by appropriate government agencies, and
6. submitted GRE scores.
The following are the documents to be submitted in addition to the application form:
1. English proficiency: Each applicant must demonstrate a proficiency in English sufficient for undertaking instruction in that language. In this regard, a minimum TOEFL score of 550 for the paper-based, 213 for the computer based, 79 for the internet based or IELTS score of 6.5 is required for entrance into the program. The only documents we accept are official TOEFL scores sent directly by Educational Testing System (ETS) or official IELTS sores sent directly by British Council. Please refer to the TOEFL webpage or the IELTS webpage where you can obtain information regarding the examination. The institution code for Yokohama National University for TOEFL is 0410. Choose 84 (economics) as the department code. The only exception is the case in which the primary language of instruction at the applicant’s undergraduate institution is English. In this case, you must include an official letter obtained from the university confirming this information. In any event, those applicants who do submit TOEFL or IELTS scores will be given priority in the selection process. We do NOT accept copies of TOEFL and IELTS scores directly sent by applicants, the results of the TOEFL institutional exam, or any other exams conducted by private agencies.
2. Two letters of recommendation: One must be from a supervisor at your workplace, and the other must be from a faculty member of the university from which you obtained your bachelor’s degree. Letters of recommendation must be submitted in an envelope sealed by the reference.
3. Official academic transcript: Only an official transcript in a sealed envelope issued by your university or school will be accepted.
4. Statement of purpose (1,200 words or less): Be concise and specific in preparing your statement, giving information which will aid the selection committee in evaluating your potential for completing the program. Use the form provided with the application form, attaching an additional sheet if needed. Please type.
Telephone interviews may be conducted to assess English proficiency and/or to confirm any other information contained in the applicant’s file.
Lastly, although this is not required, if you have taken the GRE, please have the official score sent to the program. Those who present GRE scores will be considered favorably in the selection process.

SCHOLARSHIP JAPANESE GOVERMENT
The Embassy of Japan has begun offering scholarships to Indonesian students who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students for the academic year 2008 under the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) scholarship program. Any grantee who desires to enroll in a regular graduate course (a master’s course, a doctoral course or a professional graduate course) after studying as a research student or to move on from a master’s course or a professional graduate course to a doctoral course must pass an entrance examination given by the university concerned.
Applicants must have the following qualifications (among others) :
1. Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1973.
2. Applicants must have received from their university a GPA of 3.0 or higher or must have achieved a total score of 260 or higher in 2 subjects (except the subject of “Japaneseâ€) in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
3. a minimum TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent or The Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher
