What kind of Scholarship do we offer?

1. Master’s Scholarships (2 years)：
Scholarships in the amount of NT＄30,000 per month will be provided for qualified foreign students who want to pursue their master’s degrees at univerisities/colleges in Taiwan.

2. Ph.D. Scholarships (3 years)：
Scholarships in the amount of NT＄30,000 per month will be provided for qualified foreign students who want to pursue their Ph.D. degrees at univerisities/colleges in Taiwan.

Recipients will be provided with a one-way economy-class airline ticket from recipient’s home country to Taiwan. Upon the completion of this degree program, the recipient will be provided with a one-way economy-class airline ticket from Taiwan to recipient’s home country.

Rights & Duties

1. Students who received the DPU Scholarship have the right to an Orientation Program upon arrival.
2. Scholarship students have the right to participate in or support DPU activities.
3. After returning to their respective countries, students shall cooperate with DPU activities and assist DPU in promoting DPU.
4. Students awarded with the DPU scholarship program shall not receive another scholarship in Taiwan.

Applicants Qualifications & Requirements

Who can apply?

1. All distinguished students from DPU member states have the right to apply for the DPU Scholarship Program to acquire their Master or Ph.D. degree in Taiwan.
2. Applicants shall not be a Taiwanese citizen.

What are my requirements? What should be included in my application?

1. Applicants should hold the nationality of any DPU member states. Applicant should be recommended by the following ways:

a. Delegates of DPU member states.
b. Congressional members of DPU member states.
c. Taiwan Embassies, Consulates, and Missions abroad.
d. DPU International Secretariat Office.
e. Presidents of Taiwan universities or DPU member states universities.
f. Self nomination.

2. English Proficiency: Applicants whose native language is not English must provide a copy of their official TOEFL score.
3. Applicant shall include a copy of diploma (Students who will receive a diploma before September this year may submit a certification from school.)
4. This scholarship is for those students who are starting their Master or Ph.D. program inside Taiwan only.
5. Applicants must apply at the same time to a Master or a Ph.D. program in any university inside Taiwan.

When should I apply?

Applicants who wish to apply for DPU scholarship shall complete the application form and include all related documents no latter than March 31th of each year.

Quota
There are 26 scholarships availiable for 2008.

Application Procedures

1. Students may apply for admission to a graduate program listed in section VII direct. DPU only provides scholarship and has no influence on school’s admission procedure.
2. A student applys for DPU’s scholarship shall complete the attached application form (3 pages).
3. In addition, each application shall include a copy of diploma (Students who will receive a diploma before September this year may submit a certification from school) and an English transcript certified by Taiwan’s embassy or representative office, a study plan, a health certificate (include HIV test), an English language score report such as TOEFL if English is not applicant’s native language and two reference letters by March 31, 2008 to
